Perched along the tranquil shores of Lake Como in the village of Gravedona, Palazzo Gallio is a place where history and romance intertwine. Originally built in 1586 for Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, the palace remains one of Lake Como’s most enchanting landmarks — a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture framed by breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Steeped in centuries of art and elegance, Palazzo Gallio now serves as a setting for unforgettable celebrations — a place where timeless grandeur meets the natural beauty of northern Italy. Its sweeping gardens, dotted with sculpted fountains and ancient trees, open onto the lake, offering a cinematic backdrop for ceremonies and sunset gatherings.

For us, it captures everything we love about Lake Como: history, beauty, and that quiet sense of wonder that lingers long after you’ve left.

Standing proudly on the northern tip of Lake Como in the village of Gravedona, Palazzo Gallio carries more than four centuries of history within its walls. Commissioned in 1586 by Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio — a prominent figure of his time — the palace was built upon the remains of a 12th-century fortress, a nod to both the region’s ancient heritage and the cardinal’s far-reaching influence.

Designed by the renowned Renaissance architect Pellegrino Tibaldi, Gallio Palace embodies the strength and grace of its era. Its four corner towers and sweeping balconies were crafted to overlook the lake — a deliberate display of power, beauty, and architectural mastery.

The palace is surrounded by endless opportunities to explore – from charming local artisans’ markets and century-old landmarks to our personal favorite: the nearby vineyards that capture the spirit of joyous living.
